Michelle joined the team of Don Scott McMurray Law Office in 2015, shortly after she was called to the Bar. Michelle obtained her Juris Doctor at Bond University in Australia's beautiful Gold Coast. Upon returning to Canada, Michelle relocated to Fort McMurray, obtained a Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee of Accreditation in Ottawa and completed her articles. Michelle is originally from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where she attended Cape Breton University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Community Studies, prior to attending law school.
Michelle's practice focuses primarily on family law and civil litigation and has appeared before the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta. She has assisted and advised clients with a variety of legal matters such as separation agreements, divorce, custody and access, child and spousal support, property division, debt recovery, insurance disputes, and wrongful dismissal. Additionally, Michelle practices in the areas of wills and estates and real estate transactions.
Michelle is proud to call Fort McMurray home, where she lives with her husband Nick, son, Nathan and dog, George. When she has time away from the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, keeping active, travelling and volunteering in the community with organizations such as The Hub Family Resource Centre, where she currently sits on the Board of Directors.
