Katie was born in the small country of Brunei Darussalam in Asia. Once she relocated to Canada she moved from coast to coast, beginning on the East Coast then moving to the West Coast. She was admitted as a member of the Alberta Bar Association in November 2015. In October 2017, she became a Partner at McMurray Regional Law Office.
Katie’s practice focuses on family law matters including divorce, separation, property division, adoption, custody, child/spousal support and child welfare matters. She also serves clients in criminal law matters. She has conducted trials at both the Court of Queen’s Bench and Provincial Court and she has appeared in the Alberta Court of Appeal.
In the past, Katie was on the Board of Directors for the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce. She is currently on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wood Buffalo and volunteers with Pro Bono Law Alberta that provides free legal advice to persons of limited means.
In her free time, Katie teaches Business Law at Keyano College and enjoys practicing yoga, long distance running, fostering cats, and spending time with her two resident cats, Judge & Jury.
